If anyone has any information on good resources for any type of aide, grants, etc., if it helps or matters I will be a full time student mother, playing soccer for the school, and somewhere in between all this I need to work and spend time with my child. I am really overwhelmed with how I am going to swing such a load. Obviously a social life is not even something I care about at this point, I won't have time. My parents bought me a car and are paying my insurance, I have insurance for my son via medicaid, and wic for him as well. I desperatly need some housing assistance, which I am going to be looking at. For now my goal is to get through a 2 year program. I am just trying to get a little help through school, once I graduate, I will be a contributor, and not a taker.

Hi Lisa. Good for you! I too was a young single mom when I received my AA. It was difficult, but well worth the effort. As a single mother, you should be eligible for Pell (possibly full pell), that depending on the cost of your institution may cover all of your educational expenses - possibly married student housing where you could stay with you daughter. I've been to 3 different colleges and each had matching "scholarships" to help, but you had to ask specifically for the application for them. There's also a federal program that pays for daycare while you're attending school fulltime. I wish you luck. Don't give up!
