I am a 50 year old graphic designer who has a BFA, specialization in graphics from BGSU 1981. Over the years I continued to get additional training as my industry changed to technology. In the past 5 years I started a new creative business in the housing industry that now has gone flat. I never completely left the graphics but I did not stay updated with all the User Interface and Visual design technology which is now all that is offered as far as jobs. I need to go back and get updated, classes are about $1000 a pop. I am single, self-employed...underemployed with a mortgage and barely hanging on to my home. Is there any help for vital middle aged people who need additional training to compete but not a full blown degree?

Thank you,
