I am studying Psychology of Terrorism and I would like some help if all possible with this essay. The essay reads: In 1981, Bobby Sands, Patsy O'hara and others starved themselves to death to protest British rule in Northern Ireland. Does this make them Christian martyrs, as the Islamic jihadists believe their suicide bombers are?

My only suggestion is to review the event and the people involved. Ask yourself who are these people and what was their message. What was the goal of starving themselves.

Look at how the people in their environment respond to their acts from a social, political and religious perspective. I think that a society puts labels on people and their actions. So, you need to compare the social views of the Irish to this event and then transpose this to the Islamic Jihadists' perspective.

You will have a good essay when you break it all down.

Good luck!
